Some people don't find them useful at all.

By testing myself, it will allow me to quickly identify where I lack knowledge and figure out ways to correct these before time of exams. Active recall (flashcards) is scientifically proven to be the most efficient and effective way to revise over all the other methods you can think of.

This doesn’t really answer OP’s question. Elaborate if you can, why do people not find them useful? Do you have any experiences yourself?

They don't work for Maths - you need to practise questions.

For other subjects flashcards are about facts not application so a lot of my students don't use them.

Heya!
Flashcards are a good and quick way to make sure you remember the material :h: You can put a question on one side and an answer on the other to check yourself. However, some people don't find them useful - so it's good to find out if it works for you or not!

I hope this helps!
