The Student Room Group

I dont know what to do with my life.

I'm so worried on what to do at uni next year. I applied fir occupational therapy but scared ill now regret it. I thought it was similar to PT but just more on whole body and mental health but it seems way more fluffy and not hands on. Seems pointless compared to other health jobs. I see it the same as a art therapist.
So I'm now looking into engineering In Ireland or ulster. Like AI or electronhc but I'm scared u cant get job from this. Also I don't like desk jobs. Would engineering be desk job. Any degrees that are science and can are useful and basically guaranty decent paying job(50k+).
Thank u. Hope I'm all sorted for next year and no I can't take a gap year.
Plsss give me advice if u can. Is OT thst bad. My plan was to get free bursary OT degree and work few years. I should know what to if I hate it and should have but saved up. But is OT a useless degree. Can u only do OT w it or is it seen as science degree

Try searching 'day in the life of occupational therapist uk' and watch some videos. OTs work in a diverse range of environments across the NHS.

I also kind of think OT is going to b boring and fairly useless. I will not be an NHS hero. i will not be an EMT or first responder. ill just be an OT. making the elderly teas and coffees and drawing ink blots with them... i think were on the same page.... :frown:
