I really want to know how common is it for students at London unis to date students from other London unis ? Or do most students in London just date people from their own unis ? Also I would really appreciate some advice on what to do about this guy I really like but he’s off to imperial and I’ll be going UCL ? Be honest what are the chances this will end well ?

it does seem pretty common, and lots of people don't just date people in the same uni so don't worry too much about that!
are you dating / going out with imperial guy already because if so i'd say it'd be very likely to work out, obviously there's loads of other circumstances and every relationship is different. some people last even with long-distance with unis across the country, so if the connection is strong enough between the two of you there should be absolutely no problem with being at imperial and ucl.
if you're thinking of asking him out, that should also be absolutely fine! regardless of where you study. if you're both interested in one another it should not stop you from going for it!! both unis aren't even like 20 mins from each other right?
It’s not West Side Story. You’re in different unis in the same city, not part of rival gangs.
I imagine there’s a slight tendency to socialise and bump into someone from your own uni more, but the advantage of being in huge city is that the world is your oyster. You could comfortably spend all your free time away from your uni mates if you wanted.
Ok now thinking about it I was probably being a bit to dramatic but I thought London uni students were so busy they hardly socialised with people outside their own uni especially imperial and I was worried because I’m really sure he’s to one ( not to be cheesy ) . But I’ve also heard quite a people sat the dating culture in London is very different as people tend hook up more than get on serious relationships and if that’s the case I rather wait for while after the hectic first year where everyone just wants to party before I tell him .
