hi thank you for the suggestion however most of the university that are listed i have contacted them and they don't consider my qualification even when my predicated grade down are D*D*D, so do you know people that have gone into optometry solely having a Btec applied science extended diploma qualification without an additional a level?
I don't sorry. You would need to consider taking an additional A level next year or finding a foundation course.

Thank you for your help but I do believe there are some places that may accept btec e.g University of the West of England which is located in Bristol

Maybe look at orthoptics? Like an optometrist they are specialised in the eyes however they have like a responsibility of seeing how the eyes work together and how the brain is involved. The difference from optometry is that in optometry they are responsible for conducting an eye exam. I think the unis allow applied science. I would recommend looking at it
