RAF Medical assessment

Hi,

I have medical next month. I have self harm scars on my wrist from nearly 3 years ago and I didn't go to the doctors for it. Will they find out if I cover them with make up?

Hi there,
Hope you’re doing alright. I had my Medical around 8 months ago and they didn’t explicitly check my wrists, however they do ask if you have any history with self-harm and/or depression. There is also a reflex check wherein they will be up close to you, and they may see them and ask about them.

Self-harm isn't necessarily a bar to entry. However, try to hide it and your application will be stopped, or you will be discharged at a later date for falsifying your medical details.
