Ucas university offers process

How does the process work for universities to give you a conditional or contextual offer?
Like how do they look at your predicted grades and personal statements in deciding whether or not they offer you a place?

If you have the required predicted grades, will a university still offer you a lower contextual or conditional offer?

Yes
Contextual offers aren’t reliant on having lower predictions

Usually not, its on of the cons of having super high predicted grades. But most unis will let you in with slightly lower anyways. Though I had an offer higher then my friends once and he had higher predicted grades, so its random mostly. Though safe to assume it will be the same as your predicted grades. Although some unis have a max offer they give out, so if you see ABB-BBC for example then they wont give you an offer higher then ABB. hope that helps

This isn’t correct.

universities will make their standard offer to all applicants and their lower contextual offer to applicants who meet the criteria for a contextual offer.
we don’t make higher or lower offers based on predicted grades.

you have to meet the required grades nearly 100% of the time, then theyll look at your personal statement to decide against other student who meet the entry requirements. If the unis dosent get a lot of applicants they may look at personal statements and such to give a lower offer. but it depeneds from uni to uni and tbh there isnt a one answer fits all.

Again this is incorrect.

most universities will make aspirational offers to applicants who are predicted below their standard offer or their contextual offer.

no university will make a reduced offer due to a personal statement
