Open uni

Hey I've recently made the decision to do open university rather than go to my original place at Liverpool uni. It feels like the right choice for many reasons but I am really worried about missing out on the social aspect of uni. I've odner if anyone on here who's done open uni can share their opinions of it from a social aspect? Or any advice on making friends when studying from home! Its the only concern I really have about not going to a physical uni

It's pretty non-existent, or at least, nearly all brief, online contact. The point of OU degrees for the majority of students is that they are doing them part time, around work and/or family/care responsibilities. So for most people, the time they commit to the OU needs to be planned and very focussed on getting the work done. When it's done, they go back to whatever life is stoping them go to a brick university. You should expect any face-to-face socialising you do to be outside 'university' if you are doing an OU degree.
