Speech and Language Sciences

Do I need to have studies Psychology or a Science at A level to take this course? The uni im looking at for this course only specifies that you need a 5 in English GCSE and a 4 in Science. I’m also thinking of applying to teaching as my career ambition is to become some kind of therapist and I’m interested in Speech and Language therapy in particular

Use the following search tool to find SLT courses:

https://www.healthcareers.nhs.uk/career-planning/course-finder

Then click on some of the unis and look for the Entry Requirements section on the course webpage.

For example, for A levels MMU says:

"GCE A levels - grades ABB from A levels excluding General Studies, Critical Thinking and Applied Science."

And Birmingham City:

BBB / 120 UCAS points
Excluding General Studies and Critical Thinking
A maximum of 3 subjects are considered. These can be other A-levels or level 3 equivalents

So no mention of specific subject requirements for the above two.
