Does the Doctorate of Physiotherapy (combined MSc and PhD) receive funding from SFE?

Here's the course:

https://www.rgu.ac.uk/study/courses/958-dpt-doctorate-of-physiotherapy

I've been in contact with them, though regarding financing they adviced me to contact SFE directly. I know pre-registration receives funding as an undergraduate application, whether that's BSc or MSc, but this is technically neither. 🤔

Any clarity would be a massive help 🙂

Hi there,

According to our system this course will attract the Postgraduate Doctoral Loan.

You can apply online for this, and you can find out more about this here: https://www.gov.uk/doctoral-loan

Thanks, Graeme

Hi Graeme,

Thank you for replying to my question and clearing things up.

Would you happen to know if this course would receive the £5000 NHS Learner Support Fund, and so, would this funding impact the amount given by the SFE Doctoral Loan?

The SFE loan alone would cover the cost of the course fees, but I'm also having to consider moving from England to Scotland, accomodation, living costs etc. It's difficult to find all the necessary information without having to jump from one source to the other. I'd like to reach a point where I can say "yes, this is a course I can aim towards" or simply rule it out.

Thank you 🙂

The NHS Learning Support Fund is only available to students studying at a uni in England.
