University request

The university asked me for an additional document, and I don't currently have it, so I can provide it later, although it is possible within the reply deadline. Should I respond to that email and explain my situation or just upload the document later?
Reply and explain.

If they've given you a date by which you should provide that document, and you expect to be able to obtain and upload the document by that date, then there's no need to contact the university.

However, if you realise (now or later) that you may not be able to provide the document by the requested date, then you should contact them and let them know. When you do so, you should provide an explanation for the delay and an estimate for when you will be able to upload it.
