transfer to open university- student finance

hi,
i am ending my studies at university and will be enrolling for the open university in February 2024. i was wondering how i sort out my tuition fees and maintenance loans. will my tuition fees just be tranferred over after i change my application? will i have to reapply completely? will it change how much i pay back and risk putting me into debt? i know the amount will change due to the cost of the course and living situations but im confused as to whether or not it will automatically be reviewed/changed when i request to change my details online.

i hope this makes sense,
thanks.

Hi there,

Have you already made a part-time application for the 23/24 year on your account? Is so, what's the status of the application right now.

Thanks, Graeme

I have made an application the OU, asking me to select my modules and payment method.
I haven't done anything on student finance yet though

Hi Lx_chxrlx_2004,

You need to apply for part time funding for Open University courses. I have provided a link to help you with this below. Just so that you are aware, the funding for this course only attracts the Tuition Fee Loan unless you have a disability that prevents you from attending a course in person.

Hi,
Thanks for this. Do I just apply normally through student finance or do I have to wait for my current university to get in touch with student finance? Also, can I continue to get a maintenance loan whilst I'm enrolled with OU? Would I change my application now and continue to get the funding or will I have to wait and reapply completely once I'm enrolled on the course?
Hi there,

As advised you are not eligible for the Maintenance Loan unless you can provide evidence to show that distance learning is the only option available to you due to your disability preventing you from attending a course in person. Your university would need to send a withdrawal notification through for your current application however, you will need to post a 23/24 paper part time application anyway as this is within the same academic year and the system will not allow you to apply online.
