I don’t know what to do at university

I’m originally interested in neuroscience, but after MUCH pushback from family am struggling to make a choice on what I should do? I originally wanted to do computer science but my parents pushed me away from it (they are medicine orientated). I was then thinking of biotech, but feel like it’s a niche ?? I was looking at course modules and think that Biomedical science encompasses more of what I’d find interesting. However, im scared about career prospects and how biological sciences are seemingly dead end.

What kind of courses would be suited for me? I did a sort of data-related online GSK thing and really enjoyed it. So I wouldn’t mind going into data science but I really enjoy biology-related subjects. Can I pivot from a bioscience to data science in anyway? Or is there a course that merges the two, I’m really struggling and feel so unlucky. My friends are all going into degrees like chemistry or maths with great prospects and I’m clueless. I would take a gap year, but my parents would never allow it, help!!
University isn't the only option, maybe try looking into an apprenticeship

I’ve had the exact same experience when it comes to jumping between neuroscience, biomed and biotech. I finally decided to apply for biotech after all. Although its niche, I think specialisation is useful when getting a bioscience degree. I decided that although I enjoy learning about the topics in biomed, I felt as though I had more career prospects in biotech as it could be more valued in the graduate jobs Im interested in applying to. And yeh I think it should be possible for you to get a data science grad job after ur degree in a bioscience as grad jobs aren’t always degree specific and may value any scientific skills you could pull out from your degree
