How is MMU fashion business & manager course?

How is MMU fashion business & management course? Are there any recent students can share how they feel about this course?

How is the teaching quality/ graduate prospects/ course content? I notice there is a unit called digital innovation in yr 1, Will it be boring and nothing about fashion? It’s because the unit description mentioned “big data and new technologies”, I don’t know if the new technologies also include fashion clothing technology. I am just interested in anything about fashion, the normal business content won’t be my favourite.

Also, Do the employers in the UK always prefer degrees that specialise at one specific agree? Or broad degrees like fashion business management are also preferable? I think fashion business management is the best fit for me, but I am a bit worried about if the employers don’t like broad degree and not to hire me.

Hi Ruby

Thanks for your question - sorry it's taken us so long to respond.

If you've not done so already, I'd definitely recommend that you attend one of our Open Days so that you can chat to course tutors, current students and look round the Fashion Institute facilities. Our next Open Day is on 19th June.

Alternatively, if you've applied for the course and have been given an offer, you'll be invited along to one of our Applicant Visit Days. On a typical Applicant Visit Day, you can:

Join an interactive session with a tutor and your future classmates.

Take a tour of our student accommodation.

Ask our team questions on a range of topics, from your student finance application, careers, and work placements, to societies and clubs you can join.

Chat with our current students who can tell you all about their studies and student life at Manchester Met.

In terms of career prospects for graduates of the BSc (Hons) Fashion Business and Management, graduates will be able to enter a range of roles and functions such as Marketing, International Brand Management, Digital Enterprise, Multichannel Management, Buying, Merchandising, Logistics and Supply Chain, Retail Management, Project Management and Strategic Management.

I hope this helps
