any EPQ ideas on schizophrenia?

Does anyone have any EPQ ideas on schizophrenia?
How detailed does it have to be? If you can just write about the symptoms and treatments and discuss those at most risk would that be okay?

It needs to be an "academic argument" meaning sort of like a balanced argument.
For the argument you might have chosen a tough subject. Maybe you could argue about the different treatments options for schizophrenia? Choose one treatment option and argue for and against?

Hey Schizophrenia is actually quite a common topic in the EPQ for psych/potential med students. Spectrum84 suggested treatments but I think this should only be a subtopic you potentially explore in your 5000+ word essay. Here are a few topic ideas that have previously scored an A*:
To what extent is schizophrenia mispresented in society?
To what extent does nature, compared to nurture, factor in the development of schizophrenia?
A study of the causes of schizophrenia.
To what extent does our lack of understanding of schizophrenia contribute to its associated social stigmas?

Would really recommend the to "to what extent..." format for your question as it would allow you to argue both sides of the question and to not come up with a definitive answer. Plus your conclusion would be based on all the research you would have done and your personal opinion. Before the candidate proposal, you can simply explore a broader topic within schizophrenia. You can always make the question more specific for the final declaration.
