Which is the best university for MSc Computer Science based on graduate prospects?

I am an international student from India, and I will complete my Bachelor of Computer Science and apply to Computer Science programs in the UK. Also, just for background, I am not strong in mathematics (hence, AI is not a choice for me), and I prefer practical-based learning instead of mugging up things. Also, I would like to choose a university which would give me more industry opportunities. And I am not interested in clubbing and nightlife so I don't mind staying in a place which doesn't have these things.

I have gotten offers from Nottingham, Queen Mary's University of London and Bath for an MSc in Computer Science. I am pretty confused about which to take. When I researched, I found that each university has its strengths and weaknesses.
Nottingham:
Lower COL than Bath. Part of Russell Group. But it is lower ranked than Bath according to a few rankings.

Bath:
Higher ranked than Nottingham according to a few rankings, and according to many people, it's very reputed but has a Higher COL than Nottingham and is not a part of Russell Group.

QMUL:
Located in London, so finding a job is easier in London.
However, QMUL is lower ranked than the other universities, and London has a high COL.

Also, I have yet to apply to the below unis. Are these better than the above?
University of Bristol, University of Southampton, University of Glasgow, University of Essex, University of Sheffield, University of Liverpool, Lancaster University, University of Surrey, University of Leicester, University of York and Loughborough University. Are any of these universities better than the ones I got offers from?

Hi @guilty-successio,

I noticed you mentioned Loughborough University here. We are a top 10 UK university (Complete University Guide 2017-2024) based in the East Midlands.

You can see all of our postgraduate degrees here, but I wanted to highlight our MSc Advanced Computer Science to you. I would recommend taking a look at these course pages to see assessment information, module details and even contact details for the team who look after the course if you wanted to ask more questions.

You can also see more information about our Computer Science department here.

In terms of career support, our Careers Network has a dedicated section for international students here. They can support students in exploring career options, applying for opportunities and much more. In the QS Graduate Employability Rankings 2022, we were also number one in the UK for employer-student connections and within the top 25 globally.

It may also be wise to take a look at our video where you can hear from some of our international students to get a feel for what studying at Loughborough is like.

You can also get in touch with our Global Engagement Team by emailing [email protected] if you want to ask any specific questions about studying as an international student at Loughborough. Our international website is also here to explore.

Hi there!

Happy to hear you're considering Surrey =)

As The Cyber University of the Year 2023 (The National Cyber Awards), Surrey shows its commitment to innovation within technology.

You can view our related MSc courses on this page, and get a feel for what you relate more to. There, you can also read about the academics that will teach you, as well as student feedback.

Surrey is big on practical learning, which is why all the MSc courses offer optional professional-training, from a wide range of industries to choose from, to ensure students graduate with confidence in their practical abilities, which helps them with their employability.

Regarding graduate prospects, based on where alumni have gone to work, you can expect to be joining companies like Allianz, Bank of America, IBM, Rolls-Royce, and many other big players.

As you mentioned, living in or close to London can offer many job opportunities that you wouldn't find somewhere else. Guildford offers a great balance between distance to London, and a lower cost of living. You can get to central London from Guildford in 30 minutes, which is why it's an ideal commuter town, with many professionals living here and working in London. With the town centre and university campus just around 10-minute walks from the train station, the location truly is ideal - especially if you prefer a quieter town, away from the hustle and bustle of London.

I hope this helps!
