Do I need a tablet for university?

I'm starting university soon and thinking of getting a tab S9+ to take notes and read ect.

I would like to write notes instead of typing as I remember more and it's more customizable and flexible.

Is it a good idea to write or type notes in a lecture? Is it too slow? What are the advantages/disadvantages of using a tablet at university?

I'll have a PC in my room and I'll probably also buy a laptop once I save up enough money.

I find I like to type, purely for speed as many of my lecturers talk quickly. However on occasions they pre release the lecture you could write it before you go in, or you could type during the lecture and write it after as part of a revision process.
Really is up to you, there isn’t a right or wrong way to do this.
