What's the typical offer for the course? Your AS levels seem quite low compared to a typical Durham applicant.

I got AABE and got an offer for Biological Anthropology. I was worried about my E affecting my chances and so I emailed the department who told me they don't look at AS grades, only A2 predictions, so as long as your predicted grades meet the requirements and you have a good personal statement, you should be fine

Do you realistically think that, even if you did get an offer, you could meet it?

Haha awww  it is a low entry requirement for Durham, mostly because it's a very specialist degree which obviously isn't competitive!

Thank you

Your predictions seem quite high considering your AS results, although people can and do pull their socks up for A2. You may not get an offer on the basis of your AS results though, so may be looking at applying after you have your results and taking a gap year, depends how competitive bio anth is really.

They are not AS Results they are my predictions. I am in Y12. I am taking a gap year on a archaeological dig and marine conservation.

Why can't you get better grades in your AS Levels then?
Even with a typical offer of ABB, Durham will get many applicants for the course with in excess of that, and with predictions of CCC you will not make the first cut, I'm afraid.

Predict yourself AAABB then!

Predictions are given by your teachers in the reference when you apply. They are what universities base their offers on. Unless you apply after you have taken your A2s and have your results in hand, then the universities will make offers based on what your teachers think you are capable of, and you have told us that they are predicting CCCC. That is not enough to get an offer from the course when they are asking ABB.

In that case it's very unlikely you'll get an offer with C predictions, however if you work hard and get the results required then you could apply on your gap year and that way you'll be getting unconditionals rather than conditional offers.
