Understand the chemistry, not the mark scheme. If you properly understand the chemistry, rather than recalling it (theres a difference) then chances are you will know what the key points are for whatever the question is on and you will get the marks, since they tend to be what the examiner is looking for
I understand it, I promise . I've never been into the whole recalling nonsense. It's just that when answering questions I often tend to miss out certain things which are marking points or don't phrase things the right way. Maybe I do need to read into the content in more depth, but I'm also quite sure that I need to practise learning what kind of things the exam expects too.

What subject are you applying for?
I would recommend chemguide for revision, it goes into a much greater depth than any text book. Good luck for your exams, what are you hoping to do next year?
