By the time people are in uni they are mature enough to not make a big deal about it, so you'll be fine.
I was asked if I wanted them during school. My teeth aren't bad and it was purely optional on whether or not I wanted to bare with it for a short term and I turned it down, something which I now regret. So I say go for it, before you know it you'll be braces free and have the rest of your life with fine teeth!

I think I'm going to have braces back on again . . . Sigh, just in time for me to go to university . . .
