Altered or reduced University Offers

I have just started Year 13 and have completed my AS levels and a full A level in maths at A*.
I learnt recently however that my A* will ideally not count to my offers so i decided to do some research and sent emails to universities.

One of the Unis i am applying to has stated on two different occasions that my A* will not count for any offers and probably wont alter it if received.
And another one of my Unis were being very generous and stated my offer will probably be based on two A levels (AA instead of A*AA) which is amazing news!!!
but i fear this is the only uni that will do this

I know people who still got offers based on three A levels despite having an A* but they got significantly reduced offers because of it (AAC instead A*AA)

Can any please share their knowledge on early A levels and apply to UCAS. If you have obtained offers in the past with a full A level while applying please tell me how universities dealt with it (lowered offer or no difference etc)

thanks in advance for helping
