Whoever asked the person first should pay. If a man asked a woman out on a first date, he should pay and vice versa.

All subsequent dates should be paid by both parties, either by taking it in turns or splitting the bill in half.

It shouldn't really be a yes/no question. Because each circumstance could be different. One person may want to treat the other and this might be the man or the woman, this kind of question really shouldn't even matter.

It's just seen as tradition for the man to pay for the lady.

I was talking to some people about this recently and one of the guys was like "for the first date the guy should pay if I asked her out she is doing me a favour by going out with me" and I think the first date should be the person who asked the other to go on the date, that could be the girl or the guy. All the ones after should be split 50/50. I would not let a guy pay for all my dates. I would feel bad.
