Cooking
How to talk to people
How to search for things on the internet efficiently
Some sort of sport or way of staying fit

As I love programming I want to say that too, but I don't know if a tiny bit of programming knowledge is very useful to a 17 year old.

Well I can cook certain dishes, I kno how to talk with manners and I've started doing Yoga however, I rarely do it at home, and do it when I feel like it.

I'd say it is - teaches you to think logically and instinctively go for the most efficient approach to everything :3
Driving? Lol
how to manage their money
the tax system
politics (possibly make it a compulsory GCSE?)
general life skills
I know alot of 17 year olds who cant iron their clothes properly by themselves....
Self esteem skills.

Also knowing that you can get into a uni in the UK if you keep an open mind as to where you go. I spent my year of being 17 being stressed at A level to the point that I still feel burnt out ten years later. I wish I'd been more laid back for the sake of my health.

If you don't learn to drive at 17 it's not the end of the world, it can be done later.
how to give head means how to give a blow job. inappropriate but hell, if i had learnt that skill when i was 17 just think of the things i could have achieved!?!

I have no clue about tax system.

Examples of life skills?
This is things I would want to learn:

> Driving
> Finance (how to pay mortgages, taxes, bills etc)
> Cooking
> Domestic skills (washing, ironing, cleaning)
> Work experience
> People skills (interviews, working under pressure etc)
> How to write a proper CV
> Being more politically aware

(That's all I could think of right now :colondollar:)
