Blood test fainting

I have a blood test tomorrow.

Last time I had one I fainted when walking out the room and banged my head.

It is a fasting one which means I can't eat anything 12 hours before so I will feel weak anyway.

Is there any way not to faint again? Anyone know the reason why I fainted?

Look away when they stick the needle in?

I'm not intending to take the piss but you'd be better asking a medical professional this sort of question.
I don't think they take close enough blood to cause fainting, so I don't think it's from a lack of oxygen.

(To be blunt) I'd assume it's mind over matter?

(I certainly have no authority in science though, so don't quote me as medical advice.)

Sounds like vasovagal syncope https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vasovagal_response

Just tell the person who is taking your blood that you fainted last time, and they should get you to lie down for it, or ask to lie down before you have your blood taken. It's quite normal by the way, so don't worry about it.
