I got; A in English lit (76/90, 90/90, 120/120= 286/300) A in Gov and Politics (100/100, 100/100, 93/100= 293/300) A in French (88/90, 76/105, 100/105= 264/300) A in History (79/90, 86/90, 115/120= 280/300) A in RE (276/ 300) I'm so relieved, I really was not expecting those grades - I thought I had mucked up so many of my summer exams!
What we all must remember is. At AS grades don't matter, its is the UMS scores that count.
AS Grades are important as they are part of the information that universities use to decide whether or not to give you an offer! As far as I know only Cambridge see your actual UMS, so they would be able to see how close you were to the next grade up. But the UCAS form has no place for UMS, so grades do matter.
I got 5 a's in English, chemistry, maths, biology and general studies (actually got full marks on two of my general studies papers, which simply goes against the natural order of things)!
However the best thing is, I got a distinction in AEA english, which I sat a year early.
I got 4 a's in English, French, Biology and Chemistry but I had extenuating circumstances during the exams. I didn't tell college about them though so I was wondering whether it would make any difference if I declared it now? I was a little disappointed with my UMS scores. Any advice guys?
I walked into the hall expecting to have C's, D's maybe even a couple of E's, so you can imagine my delight at the following results. Not the best, but for me, they are excellent.
Psychology Unit 1 - A 82/100 Unit 2 - A 80/100 Unit 3 - A 93/100
English Language ELANG 1 - D 61 ELANG 2 - C 60 ELANG 3 - C 63
I don't get how ELANG 1 is a D when the mark received is higher than the one below which got a C.
Film Studies FS1 - B 92 FS2 - D 52 FS3 - C 54
I don't know what it's out of, and can't be bothered checking.
ICT - Distinction overall.
General Studies B C U - don't ask me what happened there, complete **** up - but it's GS, I couldn't care less.
In my biology and chem the practicals let me and other students down and i dont know how i did so badly in the exams im a grade down on what i thought i got on the modules.
Im now going to struggle to get an offer for pharmacy i think.

Annoyed at my History (I want to study it at Oxford...need to get that U sorted big time...) and Latin was a bit disappointing. But at least I can fall back on my excellent general studies result *rolls eyes*
hey i was just wondering i got 59/60 for my bio coursework but on my results it came up as 86/90 and it should be 88/90 what do i do about this??
Well doen to everyone!
thanks
I expect it's to do with the scaling up thing from raw marks to UMS. The percentage you get in raw marks doesn't necessarily convert into the same percentage in UMS. It's also possible that your coursework was marked down when it was moderated.
