What happens if I do not meet the grades for my firm choice?

If I do not quite meet the grades for my firm choice, is there any point in calling them and seeing if they will still take me or will they have already decided who they are and arent accepting? Also my college does not open for results until 9am, do i gain any disadvantages from waiting until then rather than checking UCAS at 8am? Thanks

I've already answered this in another thread but I'll just repeat here:

They will have already decided, they have your grades now and have spent the past few days processing them.

No disadvantage. UCAS will tell you your university outcome but you won't know your exact grades from UCAS Hub (although, if you've been accepted then chances are you'll be happy with the grades and vice versa).

I did exactly the same as you when I got my results. Went to school first, then checked UCAS. If you want to do it that way around there's no sizeable detriment.

If you see that you have been rejected on UCAS, there is NO point at all in calling the Uni.
You'll get another big fat No just to add to your gloom.
