Should I pay to see a podiatrist?

I've been having persistent issues with my feet for a couple of months. Last week I had a compressed nerve which lead to numbness and coldness in feet which has surpassed now. I've done a blood test and my results have come back normal.

I'm having alot of pain in my feet and somedays I'm limping around somedays im able to walk normally. Currently im in severe pain. I went to a walk in centre and spoke to the doctor who prescribed me some moderate painkillers which have not been very affective. She told me I should speak to my GP(Which I have on 3 occasions) and she also said that GPs are very unlikely to give you treatment as your 18 and have no severe health issues. I've booked another GP appointment to speak about my issues again.

Does anybody have any advice? i will pay to see a podiatrist after my GP.

I think you should see a podiatrist, GPs now a days just throw off a quick generalised prescription and leave it at that. But feel free to get some stronger painkillers from the GP if needed

Yes, you should most definitely see a Podiatrist. The painkillers are only masking the problem; your pain is most likely to do with the way you walk, therefore you might need insoles. Treat the problem dont mask it! It might be pricey but Podiatrists are specialists in the lower limb and will be able to help you (im in my second year studying Podiatry and my parents are both Podiatrists). No idea why this doctor didnt refer you to a Podiatrist straight away tbh, she should have!

(Im studying Podiatry and parents are both Podiatrists btw)
