Has anyone whose enrolled at University of Manchester actually received any other information regarding the course apart from the Welcome Pack? I've received the welcome pack a while ago however I havent had any contact with them since.
I haven't, no. Just a prospectus-like book in the post and then I've had a look at their portal but not a lot there!
I've set up a group on Facebook for the Neurosensory Sciences Manchester cohort (Audiology, ophthalmic and neurophysiology)

I received a few e-mails from the course organiser regarding the University dates etc. and they said they'll contact me with more details closer to the start of the course.

Is anyone else yet to receive their contract of employment? I've completed all parts of the HR process (DBS, ID, references etc).

Also does anyone know what the shift pattern is like on the STP or are the shifts different for each specialism? Just curious if it'll be the standard 9-5. Thanks! 🙂

Hi, I’ve received mine from the Leicster trust... if you email HR and say you need it (my landlord needed it as proof of income) they should give you it. However, it doesn’t provide much information about working hours or anything as of yet!

Hmm thats strange, I havent received anything. I've emailed the admissions for some more information. Did you have to complete any tasks after registering for the IT account? I've made the account and I have no tasks on my to-do list yet my application is 'incomplete' and I havent received an update on their decision to accept me onto the course.

I didn’t have to do anything after filling in the pgt application form as instructed (I didn’t even register for an IT account as they just reactivated my old one from when I was previously a student, haha) I did poke around on self service and found my application was success, though I didn’t actually get an email or anything aside from the generic UoM welcome pack.

I wouldn’t worry too much about it, if the admissions people aren’t very helpful or don’t respond quickly I’d get in touch with Amanda Benson, I’m assuming she deals with all the MSc stuff for all the specialisms at Manchester.

Oo thank you, thats reassuring! I was starting to think I missed an email or something. For some reason it didnt mention that my application was successful, so I'll definetely contact Amanda if the uni fail to respond on time.

Apparently, it's 9-5 weekdays x
is the induction event tomorrow compulsory to attend?
Hi Everyone!

I start at Royal Devon & Exeter next week (Medical Physics ). I'm, looking for anyone else who is going to be in Exeter for the STP as I'm currently trying to find accommodation - if you are, let me know, we could team up!
Hi

I'd love to apply for STP 2019 entry, but I don't finish my BSc with The Open University until October 2019! Did anyone else study with the OU and have an extra year to wait? I'm already working for the NHS in the area in which I want to remain (Genetics/Genomics), so I'll be able to get an extra year of lab experience, but does anyone have any advice of what else to do, such as CPD courses? Is it even worth me pursuing a Master's before applying to the STP?

Thanks
Georgia
You'll have to wait to finish, as one of the STP requirements is a minimum of 2:1 at undergrad, unless you have a relevant MSc in addition.

When the markers look at your STP application, a postgrad is only 1 extra point so it doesn't make a huge difference. I imagine any sort of work, especially lab, experience would be more useful. And even more so if you're already within the NHS.

I am applying for Reproductive Science for 2018! Studying Biomedical Science at Warwick at the minute!! X

Hello- where was Reproductive Science 2018 located? if you dont mind me asking (trying to prepare and weigh up my options for 2019 applications).
Can anyone clarify something for me please. I am hoping to apply next year when applications open, however I have been looking at the University providers for 2019 and im wondering if, say I picked a specialism that was provided by MMU, would that mean I would be working/training in Manchester or is it possible to stay in my home town (Newcastle) and then travel when I am required to be at the university?
Yeah if there’s a space available at Newcastle, you would just travel to Manchester for your teaching weeks (there is a budget set aside to help you pay for accommodation and train tickets)
