Hello everyone!
I got an offer for an Mphil in Education (Research in second language education), I was wondering if anyone was asked to write an extra paper ( a 500 words critique) after submitting the application, at the Degree Committee stage. I was asked so, and after submitting that as well, I moved to conditional offer made in two days, I'm just trying to figure out the reason why

Hey! I didn’t have to do that, but perhaps it’s something Education students have to do. It may have been for funding, or perhaps they were on the fence and needed further writing from you. Could be plenty of reasons! Regardless, it worked out for you. Congrats!

Also got an offer from Girton! Was my second choice, also due to funding. Though now sort of regretting it as the rent prices are kind of ridiculous in my opinion.

P.S. MPhil in Theoretical and Applied Linguistics.

Degree: MPhil in Multidisciplinary Gender Studies
Applied: 8th November
Decision: 8th December

Degree: MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies
Applied: 9th December
Decision: 20th December

College Membership: St John's

I submitted the same research proposal for both since I can pursue the same research topic, however, I am leaning more towards the MPhil in Modern South Asian Studies. Just hoping funding comes through for it - all my decisions depend on that
