Should I change courses?

I’m currently studying Computer Science at University. However, i’m not finding it going that great to be honest. Before going to uni, I aspired to become a Programmer. But after 3 months, I have learnt that is not the case.
I find the course generally boring and uninteresting. I always feel demotivated when revising and get bored easily. I feel like this course isn’t for me.
I’m currently averaging between 60-80% on my assignments, and as great as it sounds, I just don’t feel like this course is for me. Since my uni only allows transfer during the first 2 weeks, I can only defer entry which means drop out and come back next year.
Can someone help me and tell me what happens if I do drop out and is making this change going to be a good choice?
Hey @UnicornZTV

I was in this exact situation. I'd done 2 years in Computer Science in college, specialised BTEC and not A-Level, so it was just computing, computing, computing. By the time I hit Uni, I'd become really burnt out by the subject and just longed for something new. I made the switch to Media after a year of similar grades to you.

What Hallam did for me was allow me to 'finish the year' (I didn't submit final assignments or anything, but attended up until that point) and then transferred onto a new course the next year. If you drop out and change course, you'll just experience year one again. It'll be important to let your student finance know, because this'll count as your gift year.

All in all, think about what you'd like to change to. What you can change to. Then start making inquiries to course tutors, student services, etc. Once you've set yourself up, you'll just step into a new year 1 and start over again, except you'll have all the knowledge of your university, area, etc. Which is kind of great.

Hope this helps
Josh
