Why do some guys flirt with multiple girls online even though it's unlikely they will ever meet that girl in person because of distance?

im a girl and i flirt with multiple guys and girls online even though it won't happen bc of distance and i guess i dont rly know why other than for the attention/ bc im bored/ want someone to talk to and flirt with. downloaded tinder to keep myself occupied when my ex broke up with me and its pretty much all just been meaningless flirting that leads to nothing in the end with the exception of a couple close friends i've made from it. but thats just me

Same reasons as girls do.
For attention, entertainment, it's a fun way to chat, pass the time when bored and get to know new people.

I wish I could laugh at this, but I get it. Some people are naturally flirty and flirting is fun. If you aren't dating someone, you aren't exclusive with them.
