Is Swansea a good place to live?

is it cosy? colourful? modern? or is it old and many building need renovation?
I have lived there all my many years but really wont describe it along those lines. Are you talking about the university or the city. If the university which campus as everything is different. Singleton Campus has a mix of older and newer buildings. The campus is opposite the beach and is surrounded by a huge park with a large boating lake, pub and botanical gardens. It is about 2 miles west of the city centre on the road to fabulous Mumbles. The bay campus is brand new and everything there has opened since 2015. It is on the main artery into Swansea from the East and is slightly further out of the city centre. Again it is a beachfront campus. The city centre is a mix of new and older buildings. It has a really nice marina and popular leisure centre, an infamous night life street with numerous pubs and clubs, restaurants of many different nationalities, 2 multi screen cinemas etc. The shopping centre is reasonably small and compact and houses many national chains such as Debenhams, M&S, Next, River Island, Top Shop, Primark, New Look, Boots, Wilcos and Waterstones amongst others. It doesnt have the likes of John Lewis, House of Fraser or vey high end stores. Here is a student video of a few years ago. There are others should you google them.

Hopefully the videos will help. Many people on Singleton will stay on Singleton. Others stay on the bay campus, student village for next year only or some of the newer accommodation blocks in the city centre. My advice as it is anywhere is to visit and decide for yourself. I believe there is an open day in January. I would suggest staying overnight and if you are 18 already having a look around the city and Wind Street in particular where most students descend particularly on Student nights(Weds)
