Guy problems!?

So there’s this guy in my year that I met in the summer and until recently we text literally every day (he even asked to meet up outside of school but I was super busy st the time) problem was he was also texting my best friend. He didn’t message her as much as me or flirt like he did with me but it bothered me when he’d send the same messsge to both of us so once when he was busy messaging us both at the same time I subtly called him out by telling him that I was sat with my best friend (the other girl he was messaging) and I’ve not heard from him since then. He spoke to me briefly in person but I don’t get it. Did he like me? Did he like her? Is he giving me time? Is he embarrassed because he got caught? I don’t understand. Any opinions. (For reference we’re 18/19) x
