Can I get finance?
Hiya,
I'm going back into education to do a nursing degree, I've already done a degree but I want a change of career. Admissions have told me to do the University Certificate in Health and Social qualification which they offer in order for me to gain access to the course. I understand I'd be able to get an advanced learner loan, but I've heard mixed information regarding maintenance loans. Please can you clarify this for me?
I'm 26, the course is part time and worth 60 credits if this helps.

There’s no maintenance loan for Access to HE diploma courses. They’re classed as FE and so the government has never given living cost loans (!). Some colleges will have small bursaries available but these are not going to come close to covering living costs.
