Will deferred entry change my fee status?

I have an unconditional offer to study medicine and I am an international student for fee purposes. I was hoping to obtain my ILR status before the start of the course, but due to the pandemic related closure of the UKVI, I could only submit my ILR application this week. Although priority services would have allowed me to get the decision in 1-5 days, priority and super-priority services are also remain suspended at this moment. I will be able to get the ILR status probably in September - December 2020.
I wonder whether I will be able to qualify for home fee status if I defer the entry to next year? any other option?

Fee status is determined by the university concerned. You need to ask them if they will reassess your fee status for deferred entry once you get your ilr

Your eligibility for student support would be assessed by sfe when applications for 2021/22 entry open in February/march 2021
