Will I ever make friends at uni?

My entire course is online and I'm living at home. I'm aware I'm not the only person in the country who has struggled to make friends, but I feel like I'm on another level. I live with a high risk person so socialising is off limits for me. This means that I can't attend any of the dates people on my course are arranging to try and get to know each other. I have a few acquaintances who've asked if I want to meet up but I've had to decline. They were understanding but I feel like it's eventually going to put them off. If I keep saying no then why would they keep asking? People are already booking viewings for houses and and it's upsetting me. Hopefully, the covid situation will get better next year and I can start making friends. But right now I can't help but feel like I'll spend 1st year - and potentially 2nd year - friendless :frown:

Hi!
First of all - you're doing great - its a difficult time at the moment and I totally understand your point of view and worries

Maybe download bumble? Im sure they have the new friends version for the app instead of dating

Maybe try to do some FaceTimes / housepartiea (the app) with any friends you've made that you feel quite comfortable with?

Also, I'm sure there are other students in similar situations themsleves. Maybe post in any local Facebook uni groups to see about this? Don't feel bad about it im sure tons of people will be worried

Stay safe!
