Am I probably autistic for not knowing this?

I feel like a normally socialised and neurotypical person wouldn;t have this problem, but here it is:

Whenever you want to talk to a teacher/ a person of authority and they're chatting to somebody in an informal way, should you just wait for them to finish and then approach, or just be like 'excuse me but I'd like to ask ...' or join the conversation, or wait out of sight??

Cos I usually just hover where they can see me and ask when they finish talking/ get irritated and ask me what I want. I don't want to interrupt for a non urgent question, but Ik hovering is super annoying. What r u supposed to do?
How would not knowing make you autistic???

You're probably not autistic and just are thinking about it too much.
Which is the case for pretty much everyone who asks that here.

This is satire. Has literally nothing to do with autism.

Hi! I’ve always been of the opinion that some people are able to think about themselves and view their own actions far more objectively than most - and I think this a sign of that!
If you think about it, interrupting a teacher’s conversation would probably have got you shouted at as well if they shouted at you for hovering, so it was a really lose-lose situation. So everyone will have got shouted at. Whilst some people might have gone away and forgot about it instantly, I don't think this is a sign of you missing social cues, I just think it’s a sign of worrying when some people might not have. I found out myself that if you start thinking you can’t read social cues then you start reading too far into everything you do, and you end up missing the fact that most people make the same decisions as you too. So don’t worry about it!
