Do Uni halls have a mix of rooms?

I'm not sure why it matters to me but if i apply for an en-suite room, will i be in a flat where all the rooms are en-suite? I'm not worried about necessarily having an en-suite but the only rooms that have a double bed are the "standard en-suite plus", which i need so that my boyfriend can stay over (i'm going to the Nottingham sutton bonington campus). But i was thinking that if all the rooms in the flat are larger and have en-suites then there will be fewer people in the flat, and i'm wondering how this will affect the social aspect of uni if you have fewer people to make friends with. Idk, if anyone has any information or experience i would really appreciate it
You get a double bed if you request it i think but maybe you're asking too much idk

Hey there @mxisiew !
Usually you'll find that if your room is an en-suite then the likelihood is that the other rooms in your flat will be too. In my current accommodation, there is 9 bed flats that are all en-suites so I wouldn't worry about smaller numbers as there's usually flats of different sizes. Unless you request a room that has a double bed in then I don't think you'd automatically be put in one as most student accommodations either usually come with a queen sized or single bed. My advice anyway even if you get a queen size bed is to buy double bed sized duvets and sheet covers as student houses for second year typically have double beds in so you don't want to have to buy a whole new set of bedding for second year. I've had a queen sized bed for two years now and being completely honest, it doesn't feel that different from the double I have at home and I have had friends stay over.

Even if you have a lesser number in your flat, take the opportunity to befriend your neighbours as well as you could always go over there and socialise with them.

Hope this helped!

Hi there,
I'd recommend speaking to the accommodation team, they may be able to advise on the size of the flats that have the standard en--suite plus. What I would say from experience is that just because the rooms in the flat are larger doesn't always mean that there will be fewer rooms in total!

Hope this helps!
