where to find bookish/"nerdy" girls? and what kind of guys do they like?

Nerdy as in intellectual and academic, not into gadgets and stuff.

It's not that I don't want to be myself but um I do wish I was more attractive to such girls.

Join a book club maybe?

There are also online book clubs.
Join a writing group.

Join as many nerdy type societies as you can.

If you are at university you may find some there. Hang out in the library.

In terms of the men such girls like, well it does vary.

In old man bars because the vibe is better than night clubs, with fewer people hitting on them. Hit up a pub quiz and you'll find the type of girl you're describing.

Pubs, yes. Pub quizzes hosted near universities especially attract a lot of intelligent young women. Where I live the majority are on a Monday night and often all the pubs will be packed with smart young people - whereas the rest of the week it's usually an older crowd.
