ocd psycopathology

does anyone know the exact neural explanation for ocd? the textbook is so unhelpful and there is not actually an exact answer. i get the neurotransmitters part but not the brain circuits.

- higher activity in obofrontal cortex (associated with thinking, so related to compulsions individuals with ocd go through)
- lower serotonin levels
- higher dopamine levels
