Hey does anyone who failed their A levels (e.g. got DDD) took retakes and got into medicine? If so can you please tell me about your experience and what unis you applied to and what accepted you?

have u received ur results??? medical schools that offer resits often say you have to achieve a minimum of AAB/ABB on first sitting for example. I would check uni websites but with A-level grades like that I would seriously reconsider my options and look for other courses or even foundation medicine courses. If you’re in year 12 you still have a lot of time to improve etc but hopefully if you’re in y13 you achieved better

what about ABC results? am planning on resitting my C grade but don't know if it is worth it due to me not taking bio and having virtually no time to prepare for the 2023 UCAT
I wouldn’t say its worth it if you’re not resitting B and C grade and not biology. What subjects do you do? Have you reflected why you got B and C, was it due to grade boundaries and what grades have you been achieving these last 2 years? all the best x

You would need to check the specific policies of the medical schools you plan to apply to. There are ~40 odd medical schools in the UK so it's not that big a task really. Just go on each of those unis websites to the medicine admissions pages and read through to find what their resit policy is.
Biology is only required by about 1/3 of UK medical schools. The UCAT is likely to be important though.
