Probation period ?

Hi I had a job try out shift the other day and now am starting this weekend with a two-three week probation period ? is this just to see if I work well ? they said I sign the contract afterwards

yeah, try your best until the probation period is over, try not to call in sick, come in late, slack off at work etc. Otherwise, you could risk being laid off
