Difference between HND and DipHE?

Hi all, just wondering what the difference is between an HND (Higher National Diploma) and DipHE (Diploma in Higher Education)? Is one considered more academic, and one more work oriented? Is one designed to qualify experience, whereas one is designed to gain access to specific jobs roles? Is one more valuable than the other?

Alot of questions, but would appreciate any input. They both seem to be equivalent to the first 2 years of University.

A HND is mostly practical in the way it assesses students (through presentations, projects etc.) whilst a DipHE follows the more traditional assessment route of academic essays, whether this is to be submitted as coursework, sat as final exams, or a combination of the two so you get the best of both worlds.

Higher National Diplomas (HNDs) are work-related, or vocational, higher education qualifications.

A DipHe (Diploma of Higher Education) is equivalent to an HND as both qualifications are Level 5. However, a Higher National Diploma is typically more vocational than a Diploma in Higher education, which is more academic. Presentations, projects and coursework are the primary assessments on a Higher National Diploma (HND).
