Do you need to wait for your results to apply through clearing?

No, in many instances you don't!

If you have decided that the choices you have already made via UCAS aren't for you for whatever reason, even if you already have offers, chat with your chosen University.

Many people decide to use Clearing because their circumstances have changed, they want to live closer to home or even because they're looking for a career change and want to begin this at university.

The best thing you can do if you want to understand your options is to get in touch with the University as soon as possible. Clearing doesn't just start on results day, so they are there to provide support, guidance or just a friendly ear in advance of you getting your grades.

Each University will have a dedicated team and will talk to you about your circumstances and what you want to study and will do their best to help.

As soon as Clearing opens, you'll be able to search through available course spaces. However, if you're waiting on exam grades you will need to wait until results day before you can apply for a place through Clearing.

100%! The time before results deadline is usually for those who are looking at a career change or even some use it as a chance to 'transfer' between universities as well. You can also get support in case you think you will miss your grades as well before results day so you can be more prepared
