Be brutally honest

My gcse grades are 8-7,7,7,7,7,7,6,5. I was predicted A*AB with the A* in bio, A in psych and B in chem.
I have attended many super-curricular activities 2 volunteerings (charity shop and hospital) 2 work experiences (hospital and research), 4 widening participation courses from 3 unis each with certificates (2 summer skls and 2 master classes one of which gives me a guaranteed interview) and I also tutor younger students. Considering that I am eligible for contextual offers. Do you think I have a shot at applying for medicine? If so London or outside london? Would you recommend any I could commute to?

This depends on UCAT or BMAT , when you sit and get the results then there is page here that you can ask which medical school to apply https://www.thestudentroom.co.uk/showthread.php?t=7312527 .

Being contextual helps to a degree as first you need to get the interview to get the contextual offer , so check what is the advantage that every univ give you. make list and start with universities that you like as this will give you general idea of what needed to get interview.

The answer is to be strategic with your applications and you wont know that until you have your Uact score. Then post on the megathread for ucat uni strategies.

If you are keen to stay in london you may wish to consider the BMAT, but you cant be strategic with this result as you apply before you sit it. However what you can do is work through the application requirements and processes for London BMAT unis to see if any are suitable for you. Read the selection policies and all the clickable links, not just the high level website stuff.

BMAT is more of a risk than UCAT applications which you can target strategically. So unless you have a stinker of a UCAT then I wouldnt personally wish to apply to more than 1 or 2 BMAT unis.
