How exactly is the third installment of student finance paid?

I know that the first 2 installments depends on the start of your semesters, but universities only have 2 semesters, so is the third instalment paid after the second semester finishes?

It corresponds to the start of the 3 Terms so for a September start it would be
1. late September-ish
2. mid January-ish
3. late April-ish

but have a look for the undergraduate term dates on your uni website

You should have a schedule of payments in your SFE account:

- log in
- click 'Undergraduate student finance applications'
- click on the box containing the name of your course and uni
- scroll down - there should be a blue box saying 'Approved - see how much you'll get' - click on 'View payments'
