Well I'll start us off:
I'm an older Biomedical Science graduate (30) and have been a BMS for 7 years. My UCAT is booked for 30th August (!) and I'm planning to apply to So'ton, Kings, QMUL and Newcastle.

Any other older career-change graduates?

Not such a drastic career change, but I'm about to turn 30 and applying for Southampton.

I'm a Specialist Paramedic working in urgent care. I'm married with kids so the whole thing is quite daunting, and as we can't relocate Southampton is my only option (applying for BM5 too).

Managed to score 3260 on UCAT so feeling fairly hopeful I'll get an interview but chances of getting an offer when only applying to a single uni are a bit bleak 😅

Wow that's a great score! I think you're a pretty safe bet for an interview!

Another older one here, turning 28 next year. BSc Bioscience grad, been working in clinical research since I completed my undergrad. UCAT was 3190 so hoping for an interview (and then to not f up the interview...).

Wow another great UCAT score! Mine is tomorrow so hopefully I'll join the club!

Hi everyone!
I’m 24, business graduate have been running a business within social care for the last few years so will be quite a big career change. My UCAT is booked for the 21st (hopefully I’ll do okay)

Forgot to post here but I did my UCAT on 30th, it went OK (2890 B1) but I don't think it will be good enough for Southampton
But I live in hope so I will still apply anyway!
Hey guys,

I'm 21 with a Medical genetics BSc. Sat my UCAT a few weeks ago and got 2910 B1. Fingers crossed it's enough to meet the cut off this year!

I’m applying to Southampton this year as well!

I’m a Psychology BSc grad from soton and got 2810 on the UCAT, so I’m taking my chances and applying to Southampton! Hopefully being a grad will help me out a bit

Hi guys !

I was wondering if there is any hope to apply to SOTON GEM for 2024 entry with my stats?
UCAT 2920 B1
Predicted 1st in clinical sciences
A levels AAB
GCSES 999888876

I think the cutoff last year was 2940 but I saw someone in the 2023 thread get an offer with 2910? I have no idea where else to apply for GEM except Warwick

Any help is greatly appreciated
Psychology grad working in mental health care. I got 2910 (B1 SJT).
Anyone know when the interview dates are for Southampton?
Hello,

Final year Bm5 grad student at southampton here 👋
I did a MSc in pharmacology, worked in pharma before deciding on a career change to medicine at 26!

Don’t hesitate if you have any questions about studying medicine at Southampton, really happen to answer your questions or direct you to someone who can!

Fair play, exactly the same with me. Where else did you apply if I may ask?

Kings and Newcastle A101 and then St Georges A100, hbu?

It's early days but I'm still refreshing my email about 4 times daily haha

4 times is amateur multiply that by 10 lol. Nice I also did A100 St Georges, Manchester and Surrey. I'm convinced the wait is way worse than a rejection as this is my 3rd cycle
