Benefits for students with children

Hello, I have been living with my partner and our son unfortunately our relationship has broken down. I am entitled to a full maintenance loan and NHS grant as I am studying nursing. I was just wondering what benefits any other single mothers who are students are entitled to? I’m feeling very lost right now so any advice/help would be much appreciated :smile:

It may be worth checking to see if your uni has any Bursaries available for single parents they may also offer a lone parent grant. U may also be able to apply for universal credit, job sellers alloance, or carers allowance.

If you've not already done so, you can apply for a childcare grant from Student Finance England. Details here:

In addition to the training grant from the NHS Learning Support Fund, you can apply for parental support of £2,000 per year:

You may be entitled to Universal Credit:

You should still be able to claim Child Benefit for your son and as a full-time student you shouldn't need to pay council tax.
