Step children & student finance

Hi, my step children live with us full time, they are all under 12 years. I am due to start back at University in Semtember, and was wondering if I can claim for the children, on the maintenance page, or whether that would just be their dad who could claim for them.

Hi there, If you have dependent children we would need to see the following evidence for the team to review:

- Copy of child's birth certificate
Along with 1 of the following:
- Child Benefit Letter
- Child Tax Credit Award Notice (TCAN)
- Universal Credit Statement
These documents must name you and your child on it for the team to review

If you don't receive any benefits listed above for the children then you wouldn't be able to apply for any additional grants. Thanks, Karen
