Got stung by a wasp

I got stung by a wasp a few hours ago. I'm fine now, just throbbing pain and redness in my arm where the sting was. Has anyone been stung before? What was it like? Is there something I can do about it (apart from cold pad and vinegar and antihistamine)

Yes, it really really hurts for something so small. Like a red hot needle has been jabbed into you.

Whilst my advice is not qualified medical advice there is really nothing more you can do apart from that what you have done already. The extra - feel sorry for yourself.

If your arm swells significantly ring your medical centre or NHS 111 but they will probably say you have done all the right things. If shortly after being stung you feel wheezy, or feel faint, your face, tongue or lips swell and you get a flushed face or rash ring 999 and take advice about anaphylactic shock (some people carry an 'epipen' of adrenaline for that emergency because they react so badly to wasp stings)
