Is an EPQ useless for stem?

Hi, im applying to natural sciences at cambridge and am in year 12. Some people are saying that an EPQ is only necessary for humanities and is useless for sciences - is this true?

How hard is an epq on something biology related (eg genetics), and how long does it take to write?

Not true, there are different mediums to do an EPQ through, it may be that your particular project will lend itself more to something that's not a dissertation, but more the investigation element (depending on the exam board).

How hard you find it, and how long you take to write it - is not something I can predict. It's a subjective question.
